    said Jack.
"A nice name enough", said the gentleman; "Are you you any good to mind & milk cows?"
"Oh the best ever had two paws on a man's body" says Jack.
The gentleman laughed and said he would give him a trial anyway. So he brought Jack out to the byre where they were milking the cows, and set him to milk wan, which Jack did to the great satisfaction of the gentleman.
"Jack, you're a good milker", says he, and I will give you employment. Now your job will be minding these cows on my far off farm which ajoins a big giant's lawn; and whatever happens dont let the cows in or trespass on the giants."
"Is that all Ill have to do, sir?" says Jack.
    "That wont be very much"
"You will have to milk as well", says the gentleman.
"How many cows are in it?" says Jack.
    "Forty" says the gentleman.
