    There was once a man living in the parish of Adamstown.

    The Mother was in an awful way when she heard this. She was going along the road one day when she met a old travelling woman named Ellen Liath or Grey Ellen. She told her story to Ellen. “The best thing youll do” says Ellen “is to take the advice of a travelling woman. When you go home put down a great big fire and then get a big pot and fill it with water put it on the fire and boil it mad hot. When you have it boiling get a dozen of fresh eggs and break them on a plate. Throw away the yokes and whites and put the shells in the boiling water. The young boy must be looking at all this. He will probably ask you what you mean by boiling the egg shells, if he
