When the goldsmith heard this he (ga) got very angry and he told Moran his (son) sooner he would get rid of his sons the better; to put feathers and tar on them and light them on the square. Moran thought this was a very cruel death and he could get rid of them in another way. Next morning he got his donkey and put his two sons riding on him and set out for a wood in the North of Ireland. He brought a cake of bread and a bottle of water with him. When he came to the wood he left his two sons under a tree. He left the bottle of water and the bread beside them and then he turned home. A certain gentle-man used to (hund) hunt there in that wood every day. One day he saw the two nicest boys he had ever seen and he took them home with him. One day as Pat and Mike were out hunting Pat said “we are now up to the age of twenty one and it is time we should go in search of adventures”. “No sooner said than done” said Mike, “I will speak to the boss to-night about it”.
