- Every boy and many girls find amusement in spare time in making toys. Girls string flowers together into a daisy chain or girdle. The daisy chain is made from daisies. The stems are broken off and a thread is put through the centre of the daisies, and then drawn tightly. Then the chain or girdle is made. Sometimes necklaces were made. The necklaces are made from daisies and other flowers. Sometimes girls make cords or chains from wild rose berries. A thread is drawn through the centre of them and pulled tightly.
