- About sixty six years ago old Walter Kilduff a blacksmith used to make pig rings by hand and it is said that no blacksmith now could make them as good as he. They used to be made almost likea hairpin. There were no ringers for ringing pig at that time and the people used to put? a hole on the pig's nose with an awl and stick the ring in and they were so weak that the people used to put the two ends together and twist them around each other until they were twisted into a small knot.(continues on next page)
