    consequence though the addition to it was made only about thirty years ago a new addition will be necessary soon. The oldest inscribed gravestone in this "God's acre" bears the date 1794. As at Killeadan this gives no idea of when the first burial was here.
    I forgot to mention that a person told us that the derivation of Killinure was Cill Cinn Úir the church of the new head. He said that in the Penal times the church was burnt down. Later a new roof (ceann) was out on it and was called the Cill Cinn Úir the church of the new roof (ceann). Another suggested that the church got its name from a person called Kinure.
    It is well known in local history that Kilkinure like Kileadan was a small Francisan foundation founded by the Jordans barons of Gallen.
