- The first time the people of the olden times ever wore shoes was when they were getting married. There were people in the world who never wore shoes but their if feet were fine and hardy and they were able to face any weather,
The children now go bare-footed a few months in summer but if they went that way in winter they would surely die. The tinker children go around winter and summer without a shoe and they never die because they are well hardened to it. Some people used to use the water they washed their feet in for rubbing to the rheumatism and some used to throw it out.
