- No one gives milk away on May day. They do not churn either on that day. Long ago they used to walk in the track of a cow’s foot because when they would churn again they would have the full of the churn of butter.
If a calf is calved on May day she will be very hard milked when she grows up. If a horse foal is foaled on that day he will be very cross when he grows up. People get May flowers and they make a cross of them and they hang it up.- Collector
