The father bought a new pair of boots for him and he went to Mass on the following Sunday. He went to Mass for a couple of Sundays and on his way there one Sunday he had to cross a river. On this Sunday one of the boots fell into it and as a result of this bad luck he gave up the Mass.
When he was dying his brother told him to come back and tell him how he was getting along in the next world. So he used to come every night as a ball of fire. Then the brother told the priest and the priest told him to dig a grave and to go into it and to cross the spade and shovel on top of the grave. He did so and he saw his brother no more.
