- The houses that were there long ago were built with mud. They used to have big open fire-places. They used no coal but Bouráns that is dried cow-dung. All the houses had only one room and a kitchen. In the houses where there was a big family, they used to sleep in the kitchen. The used big four-posted bed with hoods. Nearly all the people had a half-door and a threshold underneath it.
They cut rushes and plaited them and dipped them in some kind of oil. these were called rush-candles- Collector
