- A man once lived in a house in Lombard Street, Waterford. He was a married man and had a wife and three children. One day he was out for a walk and he found a Bibes comb. He brought it home and showed it to his wife. She said it was a Bibes comb and to bring it back or the Bibe would come and haunt the house, but he didn't heed her.
About a month after this the night was very dark and there were not many people out. A loud groan and then a sob was heard. The people who were out said it was a large dog that came running past them. But when it got to a certain house they saw nothing but a tall lady dressed in white and they ran away terrified.
Next night the same thing happened but this time a loud knock was heard on the door of the room in which the man was sleeping. A voice said "Give me my comb".(continues on next page)- Collector
