As years passed by most of these industries have ceased to be carried on.Soaps and candlemaking.Certain people in Swords engaged themselves in making soaps and candles. They made the soap from ashes and other things, and the candles they made from wax, tallow and fat.Farming implements. A native of Swords named Mac Evoy was famous for the spades he made. He sold the spades to the farmers, who were very pleased with them.(continues on next page)
