    It is said that there was an underground passage from the Hermitage to Clondalkin and that fairies lived down in it an din the middle of the path half-ways between the Hermitage and Clondalkin there was a fairy bush, at certain times in the year they had it for a ballroom.
    It is said that a man dressed in red walked from the Liffey bridge to Eskes and he his a sack of gold on his way and no one could ever find it.
