The south is a wet paint. When smoke comes from the chinmey, it is a sign of rain. When maggots are on the surface of the earth it is a sign of rain.. These are the signs of bad weather;- "Loud quack the ducks, the peacock cry. Puss on the hearth with velvet paws, Sits wiping o'er her whiskered jaws, How restless are the snorting swine! the busy flies disturb the rine, The frog has changed his yellow vest, And in a russet hes dressed".
