(continued from previous page)this castle belonged. It is over a hundred years since it was first built. This castle was tossed by a mighty wind. It was in the middle of the Lough this castle was. These people used to kill no one. There is no monastery in Lough Easke. Once upon a time a boy went away to hire. When it was coming on to night he came to a house. As he approached it he saw a man and a woman in it. The boy said when he went in that he wanted word[?] work. The man said that he would have to do three great tasks. The boy said that he would. Next morning the boy arose and the man said that if he would not do this task he would be killed. This man told the boy that he would have to build a castle. He said all right. The boy asked the man where would he build it and he told him. Then the boy started. The first stone that he put up was all right but when he put up the second one the first one fell.
