- There is an old road which the old people call “The Tramway Road.” It runs between Mennon Hill and the New Line. Then it comes along Michael Hammond’s Hill and out at Mc Crea’s forge. Then it goes over the hill above Goodwins. There we lose all trace of the road.

- About twenty years ago there was a land slide opposite the Old Flour Mill. When the people rose in the morning they got a great shock to see about thirty yards of the New Line slid down into the river.(continues on next page)
