One man from this district happened to be enjoying himself in Donegal town. He stopped late and was coming home after dark. He had the misfortune of meeting the púca. It followed him for a mile along the road. He described the púca as being in the shape of a young foal.This foal followed him with his mouth opened, ready to eat him, but he ran to a house and got to safety. Any other person out after night met with the same fate.
A poor unlucky girl happened to be delayed in Donegal selling her butter and eggs. She met the púca on the way home. She dropped her basket and ran to a house. The púca almost over took her, and she fell fainting at the door. The people of the house took her in. A priest was ,s,[?] staying in the same house.
