- In 1846 all the householders in Brenter Estate were evicted. When the Railway was being made to Killybegs, an old man came up to the workmen and asked where Logans hill was.
He said he came to see the homestead of his father. It was built in a field triangular in shape on Logans Hill and the old man said he would die happy if he saw it.
The confiscated land was turned into a huge cattle ranch. The cattle roamed wildly and had to be shot sometimes. The house belonging to Mc Ginley of Brenter was used for slaughtering and curing the hides.
