- (continued from previous page)to-day who remembers the night of the great storm of 1839.
- About five years ago there was a severe storm of wind and rain. It caused great damage in places. Trees were knocked down. The electric wires were blown down on the road. Two little children on their way to school in Wexford had the misfortune to tamper with them and were electrocuted.
A man named Lowndes was also killed in Swords with the very same thing. He was a workman of Mr. Long Swords.
The rivers were swollen to the tops of the banks.- Collector
