- There are many old graveyards about here. There is one at Cloone, called Cloone Graveyard. People were buried in long ago. There are many old stories about this graveyard. The following old story was told hundreds of years ago, and it's still existing.
Long ago, there dwelt a shoemaker a short distance from Cloone graveyard. He used to make shoes. One day a man went to him on horse back, and told the shoemaker to make a pair of shoes for him. He said that he would go back the next day for them, and pay for them. When he went away shoe-maker was wondering who he was, and where he lived. He and another man decided to follow him the next day.
Next day the man came and did not go off the horse, but he handed the money to the shoe-maker on the end of a whip. He got the shoes, and put them on. He went away again.
