- (continued from previous page)There was a man one time, who (became) who became very ill as he was going to die. The neighbours all around gathered to his house. His wife was lamenting and crying, she was praying that death would come and take her away before her husband. Somebody plucked a hen alive and sent it into the house. When the neighbours saw the featherless hen come into the house, they said to one another, "here comes death now". The wife overhearing this thought that the people meant Death. Trembling with fear, she pointed her finger to the bed where her sick husband lay and said in a fearful voice "Yonder he is, yonder he is". The people all laughed at her, they all knew then that her sorrow had not been true.
