    very early the next morning, and the first thing he did was to dig up the clay out of the well. He found that then he could rest where he liked.
    There was another man who had another farm in my district and there was a Holy Well in it. He also did not want anybody to take water out of it, and he put an iron railing round it. This man lived down a lan, and the Holy Well was alongside the lane. The water turned to blood and overflowed and ran down the lane to his house. He took the railing off it, and all the blood disappeared and turned into water.
