- There was one room and a kitchen in the houses that existed in this district in olden times. The old house were thatched in olden times. The old houses had a bed in the kitchen the bed was in the corner of the house. It was called the kitchen bed. The fire was placed at the gable of the house. The chimney was made of murtar and stones and the floor was made of clay and some were made of large flat stones which were called flags. There are no old houses in this district which have no glass for windows. In olden times half doors were common in this district and they are also common yet. In olden times the people used tallow candle's and they also used wax candles.
