- These are some of the home made toys.
1. A Sling made from cord and leather.
2. A hoop made from tin or zinc.
3. A kite made from paper, wood and thread.
4. A bow and arrow made from rods and cords.
5. A whistle made from part of a scyamore tree and boor-tree also.
6. A Catapult made from sticks.
7. A doll made from cloth and buttons. - In olden times all the old people were very fond of toys, and of course on that account they made a great number of them. The girls were very fond of doll-making, and and this is how they made the dolls. A small broad board had to be got, and a little hold was bored down from the top of it to the center. In this little hole a little ball of black yarn with a little stick in it was placed, then two little pieces of white cloth were made from the eyes, and two(continues on next page)
