    St. John's day. The fortnight before Michaelmas day is called the Harvest of the Geese.
    A very common story in my district is the story about "Tri lá na Riabhaigh." The story says that the North Wind had an argument with a boastful cow. The North wind said that it would kill the old cow before the end of March, so it blew and blew and the end of March arrived, but still old cow was alive. The old cow cocked her tail in the air and stood on top of a hill and again boasted that the wind would not kill her, but March borrowed three days from April, and at the end of those three days the old cow was dead.
