  1. There was a castle on the top of the hill right in front of where Castleknock College is now. There was a battle on the top of the hill between Conn of the Hundred Battles and Cumhal father of Fionn Mac Cumhal. The castle is nearly all knocked down but some of the ruins are still there and there is a tunnel from where the castle was, to Mulhuddard Churchyard and that is how Castleknock got its name.
