The Roads in the District (continued)
“The roads in the district are: the Tuam Road...”
(continued from previous page)the old road. The mail coach passed through Barnaderg on it's way to Sligo from Dublin.
The road here went through the fair "Green" and over a hill and on for about a mile along a plateau.Later, a new road was cut around at the base of this hilly land and joined the old road at Lissavalley about a mile from the village at Barnaderg.
The old coach road is still called "The Old Road".
It is still used by the villagers going to the shop and it is safe now on account of the traffic.
