Nov 11th It is customary for every household to kill a fowl- the poorer class kill a "cock" - while those who are better off, or own a horse are supposed to kill a "goose".
The Blood is sprinkled - or the sign of the cross is put on the door with the blood.(Sept 29th)
"Michaelmas" - the same thing is done as on "St Martin's" (11th Nov)Feb 1st "St Brigid's Eve"
Boys or girls "dress up" and go from house to house gathering "Eggs" - or "money". They are supposed to represent St Brigid begging for the poor of the district. They are called "Brídeóg's".(continues on next page)- Collector
