    'rise' without one.
    Once there was a Protestant man that had a baker making bread for him and every cake he made he put a cross on it. The Protestant man asked why he put crosses on the cakes he made.
    The man told him that no cake could 'rise' without a cross. The Protestant told him not to put a cross on his cakes any other time, and that he would prove a caked could 'rise'; without a cross.
