- Some people put a ring of ashes outside around the door. There is sure to be footprints of fairies in the ashes and if there is any of the foot prints faced in towards the house someone is going die in that house before the year is out. If you make a ring of ashes around any other door in the house and shake primroses around about it there is sure not to be any fairy tracks in it for the fairies will not go near primroses.
On May Night some people tie a primrose to their cows tails for they believe that if they didn't there would be no butter in the milk for the year
People say that if you get up very early on May Morning and wash your face and hands in the dew you will not get sunburned all through the summer.(continues on next page)- Collector
