- There was a man by the name of Patsy Oats. He lived in Ballinasloe. He was a chimney sweep and he used to come to Pallas to clean the chimneys. Once upon a time he was caught in a chimney in Pallas and the men had to bore a hole to get him out and he never returned to Pallas after that. People bet with him once upon a time that he would not go through a nine inch pipe and he did it. Five pounds was the bet and he won it.
