    dogs of the neighbourhood as they were the only means of defence at those times. The old R.I.C. came to defend Finn's property and in the event of clearing the cattle the fight took up. It was a bloody struggle fought to a finish for the ownership of the soil of Lisduff. The tenants were victorious and now hold a title right to the said lands. This was the first break of landlordism in Ireland.
