- (continued from previous page)Pat said he was not afraid so he started for home with the chain under his arm. When he was passing the spot where the fairies were he saw a white form coming towards him. He toed the chain round him and he brought him home.
When he arrived he told his brother to put down a big pot of water on the fire. But when Jim saw the fairy he fainted. Then Pat tied the fairy to the leg of the table and he put down the water himself.
When the fairy saw this he begged for mercy and promised him he would never trouble him again. Pat said he did not care whether he troubled him or not that he was in his way once and it was enough to get a good punishment for it.
Then the fairy said he would give him a pot of gold if he let him go. Pat agreed(continues on next page)- Collector
