- An old cure for the whooping cough is to put the child (he or she) under a donkey's stomach. A cure for rheumatism is to put a certain herb called the Reisin Ban to the sore spot. If there is a thorn in anyone's hand a fox's tongue can cure it. A frog is very good for toothache. If a stone falls on your foot and cuts it severly an old cure for it is to get a cobweb off a rafter and wap it round the injured part of the limb.
