Patrick McNulty and Michael Mullen of Tawley made an attempt to get the treasure. They went up to the rock and dug round it and took out a great heap of stones, small and large. When they were well down they called out the cat to fight. The cat appeared but the two men got afraid and ran away. They never went back. - There is a hidden treasure in Tom Rooney's field in Carrick. The treasure is under a big flat rock which is supported by four smaller ones. Over the rock grows a lone white-thorn and the treasure is guarded by a monster eel. No attempt has been made to get the treasure. The(continues on next page)
