A lighted candle was placed behind it giving it a hideous appearence. When the man approach the bridge he beheld the "ghost." He did not give it a second look but turned back and ran home as fast as his legs could carry him, not to pass that way for many weeks after.
- Once upon a time in the same house there lived three brothers who slept in the same bed. The eldest boy was the last to go to bed and he had hacked feet and wore socks on him in bed.
