- There lived a man in Brackry more named John Mac Kearney. He was born blind and was a great poet. He composed many songs, and here are the names of the songs he composed, "The Mully's Chapel Bell," and another one the Rosary.
He was a big strong man, and lived to be sixty years of age, and is buried in Kill Ruask graveyard.
