    the churn, and there is a hole bored in the middle of the lid, so that it will go in on the staff. There are cloths put roun[d] the mouth of the churn to keep the milk from skiting out. Then the churning begins. When the people of the house are churning and the neighbour comes in he takes a brash and if he doesn't the people think he takes the butter with him.
