    Granard, a few of the French scouts skirted the eastern side of the lake, going roughly along the track of the "Mew Line," and they had much difficulty in making their way among the oak trees and coming up with their comrades, the main body of whom had marched along the old road west of the lake. They overtook them at Lavagh, near Drumkeeran.
