The Danes occupied it at one time and they had a graveyard in the fort and many head stones up but they were also removed.
The Danes built it. It was not occupied for a great number of years. Lights were seen at night and the noise of the people in it running and talking was heard also
Rabbits are fond of staying there and a wild cat also.
There is an other fort in Donaghmore. It is called a ring fort. It is surrounded by bushes, there is no entrance into it. Long ago there was a forge built in it and horses and wheels were shod there.
There is a fort four miles from Donaghmore. It is called a liss and there is a stone wall round it. There are steps down to it. It is said at night music and sounds are heard round it.
There is a fort in Owen Loughlin's field about a half mile from Glenboy School. It was built of stone and there is an entrance into it. Long ago lights were seen at it.(continues on next page)- Collector
