the people eat their supper which consists of tea and pancakes. The crosses are hung from the rafters in the house and in the out houses. The girdle of St. Brigid is made from straw or rushes plaited trebly with three crosses worked in. St. Brigid passed through this district and it was she who commanded this church to be built in Kilbride graveyard. It is said is was the fairies out of the forts built it. They warned the people not to look while they were building it. When they had it ready to put the roof on a woman looked out at them. It was sheep whom they had to attend them and when the woman looked out the stones fell from the sheep's backs and the church was never finished.
