- There are two graveyards in Oughterard, one at either end of the town. Unbaptised children are buried in the graveyard in Ceann Ramhar (Canrawer)which is at the western end of the town. In this graveyard there are buried also people who died in the old workhouse some years ago who had nobody to claim them.
The other graveyard which is call Kill Cummin is at a little distance from the road to Galway. This graveyard is sloping northward. It takes it's name from the ruins of the old chapel(continues on next page)- Collector
