- There is a well in Cloonkell. It is called St. Patrick's well. It is called that name because there is a large stone on one side of it, and the track of Saint Patrick's knee is on the stone. It is said that one day as he was passing through the village he was thirsty. He went to this well to take a drink of water. He went down on his knees and when he got up the track of his knees were on the stone.
