- A Cure for Jaundice.
Lerrence Ms Nama, Annaghtim gave me the following cure for jaundice. He boiled a quart of ale and the bark of the barberry-tree together until a pint of mixture was obtained. Then he strained it through a strainer, and told me to take two or three tablespoonfulls of it; fasting every morning. When the pint was used i was cured.
This cure can be made any day. The barberry-tree has to be growing for six or seven years before it can be used, because if it was used before that time it would be too strong for drinking.
