- 7. Patrick Doran, Sheafield told me there is a treasure hidden in O'Rourkes castle in Leitrim village. Three men named Guckican, Finn, and Mac Dermott dreamed of it. They went in search of it at five o'clock one morning and when they had a hole dug the wall fell into the hole. When they looked up they saw a black figure standing before them. They fled in fear. For three nights after-wards if they happened to be out after twelve oclock they could hear music playing

- 8 In the townland of Mullaghsallagh there is a large stone and a small one. They are called "The Cow" and "The Calf." A crock of gold is supposed to be hidden under them. It is very hard to get it as four fairies watch this place day and night. It is said that if a man could get a white horse with one eye in the middle of his forehead and bring him at twelve o'clock at night to these two stones(continues on next page)
