In the year 1928 when all the good footballers were picked out of 32 counties to kick for Ireland he was one of the seventeen that were picked to play against America in the 1929 in Croke Park.It was here that John took the honours for scoring the winning goal for Ireland that beat America. He also scored one point.He is now foremost in Soccer and he kicks with Longford and is paid £2 10s 0d a week.He has fifty medals for kicking football. Life savingAimn
