- There is a forth in the townland of Kiltyfea. It is not a big forth, there are only three rings in it. It is surrounded with white thorn bushes. When anyone died in the district lights are seen in it. No one is supposed to cut a bush in any forth, for if they do they always meet with some accident.
In the late hours of the night music was heard in this forth. No cows ever like to go into this forth, It is said that there is a special sod in it and if you walk on this sod you would never find your way out of it. Some years ago fairies were seen in this forth in the evenings. A man who resided in the district often saw crowds of horses galloping by his door in the late hours of the night. They galloped on as if there were no hedges before them. I also heard that a very large stone was thrown across the hedge just as a man was passing by one evening and that it would take several(continues on next page)- Collector
