- (continued from previous page)it but a narrow plank. The old man groped about for some time to find the stick, but he could not. At length he lost all courage, and he stood for some time thinking what should do. Suddenly he saw a beautiful light shining from the forth. He was then able to find his way across the river without any difficulty. This light continued to shine until he was out of all danger. The light then disappeared again and he could see it no more, but the man reached home safely. There is an old forth to be seen in the townland of Sunnoghabeg not far from Cloone. It consists of two circles and a high mound in the centre. There is a deep circular trench all around it and some bushes in the centre. It is situated on a hill. There is another forth on the opposite hill and lights are often seen going from one hill to the other.
