- When the old people made bread they made it with oat meal. They also made a boxty loaf from grated potatoes which the old people made in a lot of ways. They added flour to the potatoes and baked then in an oven. They also made a potatoe cake from masked potatoes adding some flour and baking in thin cakes in the oven or pan. There was very little flour used in olden times. When the boxty was grated they wrung it and kept the starch for starching clothes.

- In olden times they did not bake the bread in an oven. They took a round piece of timber which was shaped like a cake and they fixed a small flat stand under it and got a light piece of tin and fixed it up in front of the timber. They put the cake in between these until it baked in front of the fire.
