- There are several "fairy forts" in this district. In each townland they are called by different names. The townland of Doon gets its name from a fort. In Bromore there is a fort called Lisín Ruadh and the townland of Rahavanig gets its name from a rath.
All of them are circular in shape with a big fence all round them and an entrance in the middle or in the side.
There are many stories connected with them, and this story is told:-
Once upon a time a woman was going to the Blessed Well and it was very early in the morning. There was a fort on her way to the well, and when she was coming towards it she saw a(continues on next page)- Collector
